About the client
Bamigo is a sustainable fashion brand focused on everyday clothing made from bamboo. The idea was simple from the start: create comfortable, long-lasting basics that are good to wear and responsibly made.
Bamigo sells directly to customers across Europe. From the very beginning, the brand focused on international growth, performance and long-term scalability.
Our partnership started in early 2015 - when Bamigo was just an idea. Hatimeria has been Bamigo’s e-commerce and technology partner ever since.

Challenges
Bamigo was not launching a typical online store. It was building a new D2C brand from scratch, with no room for technical mistakes.
The most important challenges included:
- Building a scalable e-commerce platform from day one
- Supporting international sales with correct currencies and localization
- Avoiding downtime during high-traffic marketing campaigns
- Growing the brand while continuously improving UX and performance
- Maintaining stability during rapid growth
One early issue had a direct business impact: some international customers saw prices displayed in an incorrect currency instead of their local one, which reduced trust and conversions.
The biggest stress test came in 2016, during a TV campaign around the Olympic Games, when 5,000 - 10,000 users entered the store at the same time.
Our actions
Hatimeria worked as a long-term e-commerce partner, responsible for both technology and performance.
Our work included:
- Building the Bamigo store from scratch on Magento 1
- Migrating the platform to Magento 2 as the business grew
- Providing and managing hosting and infrastructure
- Fixing and optimizing multi-currency and localization logic
- Preparing the platform for peak traffic and TV campaigns
- Delivering multiple redesigns, improving UX without disrupting sales
Before major campaigns, Hatimeria focused on performance, stability and scalability so marketing growth never turned into technical risk.
